Distillery description
Bowmore is a historic Scottish distillery on Islay, believed to have started in 1779, with confirmed production from 1816. Known for its peated whisky, Bowmore features a finer peat profile, with flavors reminiscent of beach bonfires, salt, flowers, and tropical fruit. Its innovative heat recovery system even heats a local swimming pool. A significant portion of Bowmore whisky matures in sherry casks, contributing notes of dark fruit and chocolate. The distillery, now owned by Suntory Holdings, offers standard bottlings and limited editions, with aging occurring in the famed No. 1 Vaults. Bottle description
