Architect, architectural historian, painter and draughtsman. From 1886 to 1894 he studied architecture at the St. Petersburg academy. From 1895 to 1897 he stayed mainly in Paris, visited France, Italy, Switzerland and was in London. In 1899 he took a job in Moscow at the Stroganov School of Art Industry as a lecturer in composition and art history. He also taught at the Moscow School of Painting Sculpture and Architecture. He participated in the artistic and scientific life of Russia, and became close to the milieu of Mir Isskutsk. In 1918 he returned to Poland and settled in Warsaw. In 1919 he received a professorship at the Warsaw University of Technology, where he taught the history of modern architecture, and was dean of the Faculty of Architecture from 1920 to 1923. He was a member of TZSP, PAU, TAP Sztuka. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and Russia, as well as in Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels, Copenhagen, among others. The artist was interested in monuments and history from his earliest years, had a well-established knowledge of architecture, styles, and was an excellent draftsman and watercolorist. His extensive output includes illustrative works, architectural fantasies and design works.
