Biography
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she completed her doctoral studies in 2021 and received her master's degree in printmaking in 2014. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp under the Erasmus program and at the University of Silesia, majoring in art history.
Hanna Rozpara's work includes painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design and music composition. In her latest works, the artist explores the issues of camouflage, amorphousness and chaotic phenomena, setting them in a variety of contexts - from cosmological, to alchemical, to natural. In her earlier works, meanwhile, she explored themes of nothingness, suffering, war and death, giving them both philosophical and existential dimensions.
The artist's oeuvre includes 34 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 200 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Serbia, South Korea, Japan, the UK, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Portugal and Croatia. Hanna Rozpara is the recipient of many awards, including the Utazu Art Award of the U-Plaza Biennale (Utazu, Japan, 2022) and the Show Off of the Month of Photography in Krakow (2022). She has participated three times in the JOYA AiR Artist Residency: Arte + ecologia in Vélez-Blanco, Spain (2020, 2023, 2024). Her work has been repeatedly supported by art scholarships and awards, both nationally and internationally.
