Kasia Kotnowska was born in Cracow, where she lives and creates, studied sociology (with a specialization in social work) at Jagiellonian University. She also graduated from clothing design school with a diploma in technology, and for years had her own brand.
Kasia about herself: when I was a little girl I used to paint and draw a lot, but during adolescence the emphasis was put on other things. After years I returned to what began to give me a lot of satisfaction, at first I did for myself (for the drawer), but I dared to consult the works with my friend Bartek Chwilczynski, a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, who motivated me to take the matter seriously. I rented studios near him. During the pandemic I also made encouraging inscriptions for Cracovians on the streets of the city, thanks to this I got the Man of the Year award of Gazeta Krakowska. I am currently painting and working with the city to create an exhibition called COOPERATION, which will be a record of the life of the city, the residents, during the pandemic, lockdown and the activities of artists during this time.
