The banknote comes from a limited run of the “experimental” HM series, 20 zlotych denomination, 1948, where for the serial number range starting with the digits 9802... and 9803..., polymer-enriched paper was used as the base material to increase the paper’s durability and thus slow down the wear and tear of the banknotes in circulation. As a result, the banknotes feature a vivid, light cream shade of paper.
