One of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s most famous historical novels and the third part of the Trilogy. The story is set in the 17th century, during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth’s wars against the Ottoman Empire and the Cossacks, and its main character is Michał Wołodyjowski, the legendary “little knight.” The novel combines themes of battle, patriotism, and social life, depicting the fates of the characters against the backdrop of the events leading up to the defense of Kamieniec Podolski.
