Johann Carl Schönheit (Meissen 1730 – 1805 Meissen) was a Saxon sculptor and porcelain modeler. Johann Carl Schönheit was born the son of a machine assistant at the Meissen porcelain factory. At the age of 11, he became an apprentice at the factory. He studied and worked under the guidance of Johann Joachim Kändler for over 20 years. Later, he also worked for Michel Victor Acier. His main task was modeling and sculpting based on molds or drawings. From Acier, he learned excellent craftsmanship and artistic design, which enabled him to become a versatile sculptor and modeler.
