In the RIC, the coin is described as a hybrid.
Most of the ORIENS legend coins emphasized the initiation of something new by a given Emperor. This message could also underline the saeculum aureum, which referred to the reign of the emperor in which the coin was minted. Sol, which appears on most coins bearing these legends, has thus become the symbol of the saeculum aureum.
