In 1979,Juliusz Nowina-Sokolnicki—who was not recognized by most of the Polish émigré community as the President of Poland in exile—issued a “decree” on June 9, 1979, reinstating the Order of St. Stanislaus. He proclaimed himself its 8th Grand Master.
