(OGIŃSKI, Lithuania 1794).
List of works concerning the Bala Kownacka manor on the Neman River, belonging to Franciszek Ksawery Ogiński, compiled by chamberlain Józef Matkiewicz. No place. [Bala Kownacka] June 30, 1803, bifolium, dimensions 35 x 21 cm.
In Polish. Handwriting and autograph of Chamberlain Józef Matkiewicz and signature of Quartermaster Jan Sawicki. List of works carried out on the Bala Kownacka estate on the Neman River, part of the estate of F.K. Rev.(1742–1814), who is mentioned in this document. He was the uncle of the famous composer Michał K. Ogiński, who inherited the aforementioned village. There is information that the administrator Matkiewicz spent six months in 1793 in Minsk and in Nieśwież with the Radziwiłł family but commissioned repairs to the cottages in Bereżany and Szembalowce. The year 1794 was described as a time of “severe plundering of the Grodno region” as well as the activities of the “national uprising and Moscow’s foraging raids.” The structures rebuilt after the destruction—such as a bakery, an icehouse, and a barn, all made of wood, some of which was purchased from rafters on the Neman River—are listed in detail (along with their valuations). Since the estate was located on the then Prussian-Russian border, two houses were built for border guards. Legal proceedings in Białystok and Sokółka are also mentioned. Good condition. 10541/25
