Francis De Lassus Saint-Genies - French aristocrat, painter and lithographer born in Brittany, Val Andre. He studied at the Julian Academy in Paris. In the refined chromatic range of his compositions, Saint-Genies creates his own mysterious symbols. The great-grandson of composer Charles GOUNOD, he gives us a universe of sweet harmonies where everything is music. Under the spell of Woman, he paints his "awakened dreams." His delicate figures invite us to follow them into a world of harmony, happiness and love. Saint-Genies' works capture the moment when the artist discovers a new face of a woman, the woman of his dreams, where a kiss is supposed to be an eternity. The distinguishing feature of his works is the delicate, subtle color palette and a distinct "poetic" atmosphere, as if the painting is not only meant to be a representation, but also a dream that the artist suggests to the viewer No artist has ever shown a woman in such a warm, yet surreal and mysterious way. His works have been exhibited not only in France, but also abroad - in Germany, Sweden, the United States and Switzerland. He died in 2018 at the age of about 93.
