Jean-Marie Guiny (born 1954 in Versailles, died 2010) was a French artist, known primarily for his works in printmaking techniques and painting. He quickly gained recognition as a printmaker. He developed innovative techniques including hand-colored prints.
He made his first lithographs and dry-point prints. His works were published and exhibited in France and abroad. He collaborated with leading European art dealers. He worked in major Parisian printmaking studios, alongside such masters as Miro, Tobiasse, and Alechinsky.
He had the first major personal exhibitions of his paintings in France (in 1992) and has participated in various exhibitions in France and abroad. His works are listed at auctions and their prices are published in art websites, which testifies to his presence in the art market. Although he is not a widely known icon on the scale of some of his colleagues, his achievements in the field of printmaking and his presence on the international art market indicate that he is a recognized and respected artist.
