This is just one of two lithographs created during the artist’s lifetime. Magritte began creating printmaking works very late in life—not until he was 63 years old. "Les Bijoux Indiscrets" from 1963 is his debut lithograph, created for the Parisian art magazine "XXe Siècle." The official catalog raisonné *The Graphic Work of René Magritte* by Kaplan and Baum lists only 20 prints created during the artist’s lifetime and with his formal approval—2 lithographs and 18 etchings.
