Stefania DRETLER-FLIN (1909 - 1994), - Woodcut from the Beautiful Cracow Cycle

Stefania Dretler-Flin - Polish visual artist. She specialized in printmaking (linocut and woodcut) and after 1960 in ceramics and figural sculpture. After studying art in Cracow, she trained at the Académie Colarossi in Paris. She made her debut in 1933 and was a member of the Group of Nine Graphic Artists. During the war she stayed in Lviv and Warsaw. She participated in the Warsaw Uprising. Her spouse, Zygmunt Flin (1909-1993), a graduate of the Architecture Department of the Lviv Polytechnic, also practiced ceramic sculpture. She belonged to the GROUP OF NINE GRAPHICIAN ARTISTS associating the most prominent representatives of Polish woodblock printmaking in postwar Poland.
