Tomasz Daniec (b. 1973) – printmaker and painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He received his diploma with honors in 1998 from the copperplate engraving studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts under the supervision of Prof. St. Wejman. Since 1998, he has been an assistant in Prof. S. Wejman’s copperplate engraving studio (Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków). In 1997, he received a scholarship from the Kent Institute of Art & Design in Maidstone, United Kingdom. In 1999, he was awarded the City of Kraków Creative Scholarship, and in 2003, the T. Kulisiewicz Scholarship. In 2003, he won the Silver Medal in the Printmaking category at the 11th International Biennial of Printmaking and Drawing in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2009, he earned his Ph.D., and in 2014, his postdoctoral degree at the Department of Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He has served as associate dean since 2012 and has been an associate professor since 2014. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including: a silver medal at the 11th International Biennial of Printmaking and Drawing in Taichung, Taiwan (2003); the Rector’s Award from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (2006); the Third-Degree Individual Award from the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków for artistic and teaching achievements (2007); and the Grand Prix at the 8th Polish Print Triennial in Katowice (2012).In 2012, he won the Guanlan International Print Prize at the 3rd International Print Biennial, Guanlan, Shenzhen (China). His works are included in the collections of: the Guanlan International Print Collection, Shenzhen, China; the BWA Gallery in Katowice; the Polish Print Triennial in Katowice; the National Art Gallery of the Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, Taiwan; the Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz; the International Graphic Collection of the Civic Museum of Cremona, Italy.
