Pauillac, 2ème cru classé
Comments
Chateau Pichon Lalande is a sister estate to Pichon Baron. They share a history of creation, close proximity and the fact that they are among the most important addresses in Pauillac.
The Comtes de Lalande are the top of the super seconds wines - producers classified as second cru, but whose performance and quality achieved today puts them on a par with those of the top class. Pichon Lalande is superbly managed, which is directly reflected in the quality of the wines in recent years. The brilliant director Nicolas Glumineau, formerly associated with Ch. Montrose, is responsible for everything. The wines here are made from biodynamically grown fruit and through extremely precise, careful winemaking.
The 2015 vintage of this wine is extremely successful, beautifully layered, with the different parts of the wine precisely arranged side by side. Smooth, slender, appropriately intense with a multi-layered bouquet of notes characteristic of the Pauillac commune. Concentration, depth and firm structure suggest that there is no need to rush to open this bottle. But with a purchase on the contrary, as those eager for such a successful Bordeaux with such a price/quality ratio are by no means in short supply,
