Ignacy PIEŃKOWSKI

Painter and educator - began his artistic education with Wojciech Gerson at the Warsaw Drawing Class (1892-1895). He then studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow under Teodor AxentowiczA and Leon Wyczółkowski (1895-1898) and in Paris at the Academie Julian and Academie Colarossi, as well as in Munich and Rome. From 1909 to 1913 he taught at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. He spent the years of World War I in Russia. Since 1918 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He belonged to the Society of Polish Artists "Art" and participated in its exhibitions. In fact, he exhibited very often, including at TPSP in Krakow, the Krywult Salon, TZSP and the Institute of Art Propaganda in Warsaw. He participated in numerous exhibitions abroad organized by TOSSPO. He had many solo exhibitions, including one in Curitiba, Brazil in 1925, where he traveled on this occasion.
