A nice piece of a particularly interesting medal honoring Polish insurgents...
The medal was designed by Barre and struck by the Polish Bazaar Society in Lyon in a mintage of 5,008 pieces, as J. Chałupski noted on his blog.
Obverse: France embracing Poland; the legend around the edge reads:
TU NE MOURRAS PAS, with the date M•DCCC•XXXI in a segment, and the signature in the field;
Reverse: a wreath of stars, beneath it: A/L`HEROIQUE/POLOGNE, below that, crossed laurel branches and the symbol of a lion;
Bronze, diameter 51.5 mm, weight 65.90 g.
