“Remonty” were young horses purchased by the Polish Army; the best of them were assigned to the Young Horse Reserve. Purchases of “remonty” were conducted annually by the military administration.
The year 1937 was exceptional in this regard, as for the first time in the history of reborn Poland, horses were presented at an exhibition held in Lublin. A total of 376 horses were brought to the exhibition, among which bronze medals were awarded 44 times, silver medals 39 times, and gold medals 6 times.
