"Note also the numerous studies of flowers: tea roses and red roses, whose delicate petals are refined with putty, the background, with thick impastos, gives the impression of relief, which is rare for painting. The works should be viewed from a distance, as they then gain an endearing originality. They betray an artist with great precision of gaze and rare workshop confidence. A large number of these canvases are in the possession of many personalities, as are the portraits."
