Lot information
Equestrian one-handed sword inspired by 16th century European weapons, made in the 20th century. The blade dates from the 19th century and is identified as a Tuareg type, referring to the traditional weapons of the Saharan tribes. The blade is double-edged, with central grooves running along its length. The cross guard is sharply curved towards the blade and finished with decorated finials. The handle is braided with wire and ends in a massive, pear-shaped head, which serves as a counterweight and allows for better balance of the weapon.
