Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 50 cm, signed back 'Meeting | 2016 | artist's signature'. Artist and doctor of psychiatry. She creates paintings, photographs, installations, videos and objects. She was born in 1980. From 1999 to 2005 she studied medicine at the Silesian Medical University, and from 2007 to 2012 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. In 2007 she began her Doctoral Studies at the Department of Psychiatry of the Silesian Medical University. In 2011 she received the 1st prize in the Artistic Journey of Hestia competition and the 1st prize of the Young Art Review "Fresh Blood" in Wroclaw. In 2013, she received an honorable mention in the 1st Modessque International Painting Competition, was nominated for the Geppert Competition, and received the UAP Artistic Award and the Collectors' Award in the "New Image/New Look" competition. She has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.
In her artistic credo, Natalia Bażowska declares her fascination with life, nature, the human psyche and body, and draws inspiration from the surrounding reality. "She grew up as a child in the mountains, which resulted in a strong bond with nature," she writes about herself on her website. As a painter, she observes people and nature, and creates paintings that are a record of a state of consciousness. In her paintings we can also find works that activate the sense of hearing: "Echo" (2015), "Afternoon Sound" (2015) and "Silence" (2014). "It is significant for Natalia Bazowska's work to develop her favorite themes in successive works and through different techniques," writes Magda Kardasz.
