5 groszy 1939 from the General Government, a zinc coin from the period of German occupation, minted at the Warsaw Mint. Despite the date 1939 appearing on it, this type of 5-groszy coin was not put into circulation until 1943. A distinctive feature of the coin is the central hole, which distinguishes it from the pre-war 5-groszy coin of the Second Polish Republic.
This piece has been graded by NGC to the exceptionally high grade of MS 67. TOP POP, the highest grade in the NGC registry for this type.
The obverse has a darker tone, with the lighter, natural color of zinc showing through in places. The reverse has largely retained the bright surface of the zinc. The coin has no visible corrosion spots, with perfectly preserved detail and an exceptional appearance befitting the highest grading grade.
