Charming genre scene by Jerzy Kossak, depicting the meeting of a young girl and a lancer by a horse, against the background of a birch grove. The composition exudes lyricism and nostalgic atmosphere of interwar Poland. The artist has captured not only the characteristic costumes and silhouettes, but also the atmospheric aura of the meeting of two people in an idyllic setting with remarkable lightness. The work is distinguished by subtle chiaroscuro, vivid colors and a dynamic, though intimate, narrative. The painting is framed in a decorative frame.
