Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Józef Mehoffer and Leon Wyczółkowski. He then settled in Gdynia, where he drew inspiration from the burgeoning city, the port, and the shipyard—a trend in which he was a pioneer. He created his works from the vantage points of Kamienna Góra and Kępa Oksywska. He received first prize for *Panorama of Gdynia II* at the Third Maritime Exhibition. During World War II, he was imprisoned in a concentration camp. In 1946, he returned to Gdynia and settled in Orłowo. He created a chronicle illustrating the city’s rise from the ruins (the series *The Shipyard Builds*). He was an active participant in the artistic life of the Tri-City, which led to the founding of the Group of Polish Marine Artists at the Cyganeria art café. He was supported in this endeavor by Marian Mokwa. He painted illustrations for many magazines published on the coast.
