Adam Rzepecki (born 1950 Krakow)
Polish visual artist, performer, sculptor and installation artist, photographer, painter, filmmaker, curator. In 1979 he founded with friends the group "Lodz Kaliska", which with its unconventional actions in the area of Polish art of the 1980s changed its face. He co-founded the "Culture of the Whip." In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he ran the Lizard Gallery of Photography in Cracow. In 1986, the artist, together with Katarzyna Pochrzęst and Grzegorz Zygier, established the group Stacja Pi. Station. Since 2022, he has been active in the UNDERGROUND KRAKOWSKI Supergroup co-founded with Jerzy Kosalka, Zbigniew Libera and Piotr Lutyski.
The artist's works can be found in the collections of, among others: Zachęta-National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, the National Museum in Cracow, the Museum of Art in Lodz, MOCAK in Cracow, Zachęta Contemporary Art in Szczecin, as well as in private collections of, among others, Dr. Werner Jerke in Recklinghausen and The VERBUND COLLECTION in Vienna or Dr. Osman Djajadisaster (Aachen). In 2020, there was a large retrospective exhibition "Stary Rzepecki looks at young Rzepecki" at the Bunkier Sztuki Art Gallery and Adam Rzepecki's solo exhibition "Australia" at the Shefter Gallery in Krakow.
