Andrzej Fogtt, b. 1950, studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań under Magdalena Abakanowicz and Zdzisław Kępiński, 1974. He also participated in exhibitions of Polish Contemporary Art in London (1987), at the Manege in Moscow (1987), in Berlin, in Arras, France (2007). He became famous for his designs of several architectural structures, including the "Tower of Unity" symbolizing the human community, the New York Memorial, and the summer theater on the Vistula River. He is known to art connoisseurs as the author of the painting series: "Elements," "Elemental Possession," "Genesis" or "Spherical Paintings." The painting "Last Supper" (1987) offered to Pope John Paul II symbolized the solidarity of the spirit of art with the hope of a solidarity-based solution to Polish national disputes. Graphic from the original, which John Paul II donated to the Olsztyn Theological Seminary. His painting was described as new figuration.
