Biography
Born in Giszowiec (then Janów municipality, now a district of Katowice). Since 1968, he lived in Nikiszowiec near the Culture House of the "Wieczorek" mine, and there he joined the so-called "Janowska" painting group (Circle of non-professional painters). At that time the Janowska group was led by Zygmunt Lis - a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. At that time, the members of this group were Ewald Gawlik, Pawel Wróbel, Boleslaw Skulik, Erwin Sowka, Jozef Spisa and others. From 1968 to 78 he worked at the "Staszic" mine and the "Ferrum" steel mill. Henryk Blaut's painting is characterized by extraordinary precision especially in portrait shots. The author willingly reaches for pastels without shying away from oil paints.
