About the Author:
Irena Podolak - born in Krakow, raised in a home where art was an everyday reality and respect for the surrounding world played a key role. Possessor of a complex personality, which makes her constantly search for truth in the world around her, painting, sculpture and visual arts. Her easel painting is an exploration of modernity, the avant-garde and the creation of a unique artistic language. She focuses on the search for space and purity of form.
The main theme of her work is man - his essence and spirituality. The artist tries to show emotions, the genesis of behavior, interpretations of identity and make the viewer think. Animals, their protection and concern for their welfare are also an important element in her works. In abstract painting, mainly acrylic, she uses spatula and brush, moving freely in various painting media.
She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists in Opole and the Warsaw Association of Artists. Since 2016, she has been running her own art studio in Krakow's Kazimierz district, in a tenement that has become a kind of artistic commune. Artists from various fields meet there, carrying out interesting projects, and art workshops for children and young people are also organized.
Irena Podolak has had more than 300 exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad.
