One of the important motifs in Jacek Sienicki's paintings was still life. He was fond of depicting single plants, but also animal skulls and jaws or pieces of meat. The purely biological aspect of life and the motif of passing seemed particularly interesting to the artist. At the same time, he told stories about them using unusual color intensity and experimenting within the matter of the artwork. The purple composition from the mid-1980s is a good example of the artist's aesthetics from this period. In the first half of this decade Jacek Sienicki was awarded the Jan Cybis Prize (1983).
