Jan WYŻYKOWSKI

b. 1956 Warsaw

In 1981 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw - he received his diploma in the painting studio of Jan Tarasin and the sculpture studio of Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz. In the adolescent period of his work, which fell during and years after his graduation, Wyżykowski was engaged in structuralist studies and color theory, which served to further his research on the effects of concavity and convexity in painting. Over the following years, the artist, dissatisfied with his achievements to date, consciously slowed down his work and gave up exhibitions. During this time he drew and painted a lot, and developed his color theory and overall theory of painting, of which reflexive perspective is a part. Since 2006, he began to exhibit his works again. In addition to painting, he is involved in performance and literature. In 2016 he published an experimental novel titled. "Bullet", the third part of which is "Compendium of Painting Problems".
