From 1868 to 1876 a student at the Cracow School of Fine Arts, he also studied in Vienna and at the Munich Academy under A.Wagner. He was primarily a genre painter, author of paintings of village life and small towns. Many of his works are based on literary motifs (such as scenes from the works of A. Mickiewicz). He also painted city views and landscapes, including those of the Krosno area, where he settled permanently in 1890. He exhibited a lot - in the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow, in the Krywult Salon and the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Lviv, in Munich and in Vienna.
