SŁAWOMIR LEWCZUK, Born November 12, 1938 in Czerkasy, Volhynia, died January 25, 2020 in Cracow.
Polish architect, painter, draftsman, graphic artist and stage designer.
Studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology and in the studio of Prof. Krcha at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1957-65.
Since 1966, he has been creating in the field of painting, graphics, drawing and stage design. He participated in dozens of exhibitions abroad. He had 44 solo exhibitions at home and abroad and took part in more than 150 different national and community exhibitions. He has collaborated artistically with publications and editors in the country, with theaters at home and abroad. He has won 25 prizes and awards in art competitions and events, and in 2019 was awarded the prestigious Witold Wojtkiewicz Prize.
Named by poet Julian Kornhauser as a continuation of Andrzej Wroblewski from his best years. His unique works are in museum collections in the country and in private collections at home and abroad. Selected works are presented at the T L E N art gallery in the Town of Wilanów.
