Nude young man, with hips obscured by drapery, seated on rock; head turned slightly upward; in raised left hand a bundle of laurel; single sprig of laurel at feet. On the base at the front the inscription: "PROPTER GLORIAM"; on the side signature: "E. PICAULT".
The sculptor drew on ancient and patriotic themes in his works.
