marble, 72 x 36 cm
"I went through the classical school of working in stone with a plaster model and a scoring machine, from traditional tools, like a hammer and chisel, to power tools and pneumatic hammers, to grinders and even digital machines. However, nothing can replace manual work on the last centimeter, which determines the appearance of the sculpture. That's why finishing marble takes days of work with files, sandpaper and chisels. This is the painstaking work when you have the fascinating moment of creation behind you. It is the most difficult, and at the same time it teaches humility and perseverance." Michal Jackowski
