Romuald ZERYCH 1888 Warsaw - 1964 Warsaw
Polish sculptor. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Xawery Dunikowski. In 1914-1918 he fought in the Russian army, falling into German captivity at Tannenberg. In the interwar period he devoted himself to sculpting, and was the author of, among other things, a monument to deceased prisoners of war in Budziszyn. a monument to Eliza Orzeszkowa in Grodno and her bust carved in wood, a monument-tablet dedicated to General Sowiński in Warsaw and numerous tombstones in Warsaw cemeteries. From 1929 he belonged to the Zwornik Association of Artists. In the 1950s, he was also a member of Prof. Stanislaw Jagmin's sculpture team, and took part in the rescue and reconstruction of antique statues including park sculptures from the Saski Garden in Warsaw.
