Standing straddling a naked young man with a loincloth on his hips - playing a flute made of a knotted, gilded branch; in his hair a wreath of grapevine. The base approximates a rectangle, with an inscription on the front: "IMPROVISATEUR"; on the side the signature: "Felix Charpentier" and a circular foundry mark with a somewhat obliterated inscription: "[COL]IN & Co / BRONZES PARIS".
