A well-known motif in a unique, lyrical edition. Marine paintings can be described as the hallmark of the painter's work, especially during the interwar period. This was also the time of Jaxa-Malachowski's private visits to the Baltic Sea. The depicted work draws attention with a smooth patch of color, which enhances the nostalgia and mystery of the seascape. The blurred horizon line and empty boats create an interesting compositional plane.
In 1921, Jaxa-Malachowski participated in an exhibition at the Palace of Art in Cracow and twice at the Artists' House, organized by the Union of Polish Artists. That same year there was a solo exhibition of the painter's works at the Cracow Artists' House.
