A magnificent piece that was made in only 3 pieces. Later the mold was damaged, and attempts to repair or reconstruct it did not have the intended effect, so they were abandoned.
Inspired by a found piece of wood, which, after a little shaping, served as the basis for a medallic mold for a work depicting the Madonna and Child. The figure of the Madonna is clearly visible, and her robe is molded with the grain of the wood. At 1/3 of the height, a hand extends to embrace the child Jesus wrapped under the robe. Beautifully executed cast in bronzed brass. An excellent item.
