Renovation June 24, 2003.In 2005 in the spring I decided to repaint the painting, including the Nude in the painting, because M. Oldak did not come forward to get the painting drained. So he came forward after about 2 years. In return, he got from me the work Aktysterss Art and a second painting, which was also cracked with a sharp knife. J. Gumiela Pilots July 24, 2005; 2. Jerzy GUMIELA
1951 Nowogard - 2010 Płoty
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1980. In 1986 he received art scholarships from the Minister of Culture and Art and the Danish government, thanks to which he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He also received an award from the governor of Szczecin for outstanding painting achievements. In 1990 he moved to New York where he lived and worked for 18 years. In 2008 he returned to Poland and lived in Płoty until his death.
Jerzy Gumieli's painting is an expression of colors and moods, humor, but also painful nostalgia, awareness of the inevitability of the passing of time... It is also a surrealist line, freedom of artistic technique, eternal travel and exploration, emotional restlessness. The leitmotif of many works are nude female figures. However, these are not typical nudes. The silhouettes, though visible, subtly blend into floral and aquatic ornaments. The body disappears into the play of colors.
