Teodor Grott was born in 1884 in Cracow and his entire artistic life was associated with this city. He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Jozef Mehoffer, Leon Wyczółkowski and Jacek Malczewski .Grott was also a pedagogue - he taught drawing and painting for many years, and his students continued the tradition of the Cracow art school. During the interwar period and after World War II, he participated in many group exhibitions. He died in 1972, leaving behind a rich artistic output, present in museums and private collections.
