Teodor GROTT ( 1884–1972)
Painter, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the studios of Cynk and Wyczółkowski, who considered him his successor. He continued his studies in Paris, London, and Italy. He traveled through Ukraine in the footsteps of Wyczółkowski and Stanisławski, taking up folk themes and painting local landscapes. He preferred to work in watercolor, creating portraits, still lifes, numerous depictions of flowers, and landscapes. He designed kilims for the workshop he ran with his wife. He was an honorary member of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (TPSP) in Kraków, where he had been exhibiting his paintings since 1910. His works, including "Portrait of His Wife," are housed in the National Museum in Kraków.
