Louis TOFFOLI - French painter of Italian origin, born in Trieste, Italy.
Italy. In 1930, Louis Toffoli fled the Mussolini regime and
emigrated to Paris. He lived in rue Myrha in the heart of the Goutte d'Or district,
with no documents and no money. Beginning in 1935, he exhibited in leading
Parisian salons: Salon d'Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Peintres
Témoins de leur Temps. Louis Toffoli is best known for his colorful,
fragmentary figurative paintings and landscapes. His style is characterized by
